For video files, I adjust the Date/Time Created or Date/Time Modified, and then run Batch Rename using one of the above file property rename templates. To change the name order of photos, correct for the camera's time being incorrectly set, and to synchronize photos from multiple cameras, I manipulate the photos’ Date/Time Original using the Adjust Timestamp function, and then Batch Rename using. I've found that for video from a Canon DSLR, the date/time the video was taken is the File Created Date/Time (set the Batch Rename Template to, and for my Canon camera that is not a DSLR, a Canon SX50HS, it is the File Modified Date/Time. For Date: use 'yyyy-MM-dd -' and for Time: use 'HH.mm.ss'. To get the above format, which I find very readable and can be sorted easily in Windows folders, I configure ACDSee Pro/Ultimate as follows: In Tools / Options / General set the Date/Time output format to Custom format. Using ACDSee Pro/Ultimate, all my images (tens of thousands of them) and video clips (thousands of them) are named with the date and time they were taken, in the format 'YYYY-MM-DD - HH.MM.SS'.
